Establish a harmonious balance and improve your health:
To be healthy is not-contrary to what one might think- just being able to function normally. “Normal” is a statistic derived from a small or large number of individuals who are supposed to be similar, and it purely and simply impossible.
From one point of view, every living being is ill, or you could say that the personal character of each individual reflects the way their energy flows, or the imbalance of energy. We each have our character (angry, fearful, shy), physical type (tall, thin, short), and psychological qualities (an analytical mind, imagination, memory) which show the type of energy we have, which will be different in each person and have its own specific characteristics. Thus each person will have a tendency to show a chronic lack of energy in one organ, and too much in another.
In fact, we are all fundamentally different, and if we have some characterisitics in common (shape, anatomy etc...) there are so many other factors which make us unique. This makes it cleat that being « normal » is not something to strive for. We must not try and be like other individuals, but be ourselves.
Your session & and your attitude :
To get the best out of your session, it is advisable to be:
• Physically “passive”, that is to say, to be as relaxed as possible and not resist the manual pressure.
• Mentally “active”, ie : to be attentive to what your are feeling during and after your session.
•Emotionally, you do not have to believe in order for the therapy to work : being neutral is the best attitude.
This, you will be active, passive and neutral, which will allow a new current of information to circulate in you, which will give you the possibility of a new kind of dialogue and understanding between the different parts of your being.

The « Points » :
When your Shiatsu-shi puts a finger on a point which hurts, try and realise that this part of your body belongs to you, and that it is not balanced. The therapist is just « pointing out » a situalion that already exists. The function of the pain you feel becomes and objective statement of your state of health, and before asking “what does it mean?” you should simply ponder on the fact that “it” corresponds to yourself. It is your pain, your illness, your imbalance…you. If you want to get better, do not try to distinguish different parts of yourself by setting them apart. Be attentive without trying to analyse, understand who you are; this pain belongs to you. Ask yourself questions without trying to justify yourself and without feeling guilty.
Shiatsu : cure, prevention and maintenance:
In the West, it is commonly thought that health is a sort of « forgetfulness » of our physical make-up : called “the silence of the organs.” But this forgetfulness is comparable to the unconscious being asleep. In the East, health is sought through a quest, a quest which aims to wake up the vital centres and to recognise the currents of energy in our being (body, heart and spirit.)
Le Koho-Shiatsu is there to help you in this quest.
Koho-Shiatsu is not a drug which you must take one day, and then abandon it once the symptom disappears, that is the point at which treatment really begins. In fact the symptom is just a feature of an illness or imbalance, not the illness itself. It is true that it is necessary to consult when you have a problem, but it is even more necessary to heal before the symptom occurs. As everyone knows, prevention is better than cure.
